I’ll definitely be doing some real testing this weekend as I’m waiting for the extra Sensor Bands support that I haven’t received yet.
This is a test done with some sensors attached with tape to my thighs and arms (not really ideal).
I hope they are also working on proper sequences / multiple timelines. As it is, iClone doesn’t work well for filmmaking. Single sequences are fine for Maya because it’s meant to work in a team. Most iClone animators are by outself, and to export individual scenes and then compile them in another program is… not good
Although I do not work with Mocap systems,
I understand the theoretical usefulness of this new plugin.
but I am puzzled as to why and individuals or even teams would be using so many different capture systems needing time code syncronization.
Is there no single unified system for body hands and face??
I’m skeptical about the relevance of using CC5 with what I’ve just seen in metahuman. The one-click “conform” feature directly competes with CC4’s Headshot 2, which requires more time to work with…
However, I’m sticking with Reallusion because it’s still 10 times easier to learn and use than UDK, which remains over-engineered and a convoluted mess for making movies…
To make movie with UDK you need Lot of money

This Metahuman update could not have come at worse time for Reallusion
CC5 is clearly intended to entice NEW users into the Reallusion ecosystem. and where were those users supposed to come from?
The video game dev community or possibly Daz.
Considering that UE5 with the MH is free
I cant really see alot existing UE5 or Daz users spending money on CC5.
However, I’m sticking with Reallusion
People who are already invested in the Reallusion ecosystem will keep their current Reallusion software but that does not really help if they skip CC5 and just send animation data over to UE5 to drive those new Metahumans.
And people not invested in Reallusion now have a $300 animation alternative to the $600 Iclone with Cascaduer to drive animation of the new Metahumans.
The key phrase in the video I just posted is: “Yes, but only if you build an Unreal pipeline and do it all in Unreal.”
The guaranteed success for completing a film project is to stick to a single application, especially if you’re doing it alone. This is also why I use Reallusion. The less I leave Reallusion to produce a film, the more efficient I am.
