Unfortunately I see so many issues, either IC8.6, CC4.6 or CC5…
I am glad I did not install any of them as it seems quite a lot went wrong here.
I hope all this will be sorted out soon as I really would like to test CC5.
But no way I will install at this moment…
I haven’t even gone down the path of CC5. I don’t want to pay all that money to be a beta tester. Australian dollar is currently only worth USD 0.65, so it’s an expensive purchase.
I upgraded to iClone 8.6, as doesn’t cost anything to upgrade and previous upgrades haven’t caused me any significant issues.
But after installing 8.6 I can’t open any of my larger projects. So frustratingly any progress on those projects have come to a grinding halt for me…
If I knew that was going to happen, I would have definitely held off upgrading. In hindsight, there is probably no benefit in upgrading to 8.6 unless you have purchased CC5.
I’ve found that performance in iclone 8.6 is not good and there’s an annoying bug in CC4 where it doesn’t import accessories correctly. You have to import as a prop first and then convert to accessory after.
I’ve just gone back to 8.54 and wait until RL fixes 8.6
I cannot emphasize enough: DO NOT UPGRADE FROM CC 4.5 OR iClone 8.5.4!!!
Dont do it… Unfortunately, it looks as if yet another company no longer does it’s own beta testing and instead has the users do it masquerading it as a “new release.”
At this point, it’s not a release- it’s a beta version shoveled to the users for free beta testing. Not to mention you have ppl working on LIVE PROJECTS they need to get done NOW.
Notice they had the “CC5 ISSUES/ ICLONE 8.6 ISSUES” threads up immediately in tandem with their respective releases- the users would be their free beta testers! Talk about cost saving!
For me iC8.6 is taking 20-30 min to “convert data” and open my iproject files. At the moment, I would not suggest switch for iC8… If you interested in CC5, I believe it can be installed and checked out as standalone, separate from CC4.
I can’t open my larger files on the 8.6 upgrade, and my work has had to stop on my project. I have raised a ticket and now have to wait until this is sorted out, not great,
yeh ! exchange Usd/Aud rate is a killer. Makes reallusion products hugely expensive though I wonder how USA folks feel about the pricing ? For me its a deterent to buy content and plugins.
How did you revert to 8.54 ? Ive deleted 8.6, but cant seem to find a way to get 8.54 from Reallusion Hub, or from the website.

search these forums for CC 4.5.4 - there’s a post where one of their reps posted download links for both CC 4.5.4 and iClone 8.5.4
my work has stopped as well. Can’t open large files, characters are now loading w patterns on their faces, can’t export in and out of cc5 or cc4. I hope this is figured out soon. Gonna try to download. Thanks Darren.

I’ve got 8.54 working now so can open my large projects again, however unfortunately one of my other smaller sideline projects I had already opened in 8.6 and converted to that format. I do have a backup from when I first converted it, but since spent a couple of days work on it, so now that I’ve gone back to 8.54, I can’t open that project now, because it’s in 8.6 format, or lose 2 days work and go to the backup version.
But I’d rather put the smaller project on hold if it means I can work on the larger project. So I just have to wait for a fix
Cool thanks. I hate software that updates and there is no path backwards.
