I don’t intend to upgrade to CC5, and based on the number of bug reports for this and CC4.6/iClone8.6, I’m glad I didn’t. What I’m worried about is that any incremental 8.x updates will be “contaminated” with CC5 compatibility patches that might break my (and your) working setup. I wish they would have released a separate iClone9 for CC5 compatibility while they continue to improve the existing iC8. Now I fear I might miss out on non-CC5 improvements to iC8.x. Thoughts?
how can i return to the .54 version ?
I totally agree with you! Same here, I haven’t been doing any new updates since I’ve had so many problems with my current projects. It would be really nice to be able to keep an old version of iClone in addition to the new one so we can easily go back to it if there’s a problem.
Open the settings panel in the RL HUB and this should show where any downloaded installation files have been saved on your PC, provided that you haven’t deleted them.
i follow the link donwload CC4.54 and IC8 .54 re-install it and it work thank you for your help
I did the same thing. They’ll fix 8.6 just be patient ![]()
I’ve just reverted back to 8.54.
My larger projects won’t open. ‘Converting data’ freezes at 16%.
I usually do some work on one of the projects at least once a day.
So keen to continue with it.
Thankfully one of my smaller projects that I was able to open in 8.6 automatically saved a backup before converting to the newer format, so I can still open the backup in v8.54.
Not sure how long it’s going to take RL to fix these issues. Now that I’ve tried 8.6, I don’t think there is any real benefits over 8.54 if you haven’t purchased IC5 anyway. So I’ll just stick with 8.54 until I feel confident RL has sorted out the showstopper issues.
The issue with opening larger projects should be fixed now in v5.02.
If you do still have issues, please use the Feedback Tracker to report it and please attach a link to the project causing you problems. Thanks.
thanks, yes I did download 8.6 again about a week ago and I have been successful in opening up the larger projects again
