I have many characters I created with CC4 and if I upgrade to CC5, will my character created be able to upgrade to CC5 automatically like the one we had before (Convert to CC3+ Character) option?
Or all are still CC3+?? I can see in the trail version the option to Create a CC3/CC3+/CC5 character base <<<<< but no option to convert to CC5!

The procedure is described in the manual: Character Creator 5 Online Manual - Upgrading CC3+ to CC5 Characters
The base is still CC3+ but there is increased mesh density, more facial morphs, HD elements for eyes and eye lashes, and other improvements.
To proceed in a clear and orderly manner, I recommend that you first of all:
in CC4 go to Modify tab
enable the checkbox “Smooth Mesh”
choose option ‘subdivision’
Move Level fo real time/preview and Level for final render slide cursors to max (3).
Save as character.
Open CC5 and load the character.
In CC5, the rendering engine is slightly different, although compatible.
At this point, by applying the recommended changes
that you find at

you will have a real-time view of how shadowing is handled in CC5, and you will be able to customize it better.
