I’m not in anybody’s fanclub, I just have a very practical outlook. Like I said, I have few problems with WIndows 11, it works will enough for me, end of story. I’m a creator, not a crusader.
If RL wants to create a Linux version that’s fine, if they don’t that’s fine too.
I see a future for me in using AI tools. Learning to use AI tools effectively is slow going, but I’m reporting about my journey in this thread: My foray into AI.
I have chosen a hybrid approach, where the scenes and characters are created in IC/CC and where the AI does the rest.
I sympathize with @cepheistudios viewpoint and I’m sorry about his WIndows 11 problems (your English is fine, BTW). RL has served me well over the years. I have created several short films and I have recently completed a feature. But if your tools or OS environment are starting to work against you that is frustrating, especially if you take the money you invested into account.
If the Proton environment for Linux is really as good as stated, it would be nice if somebody actually tried that out by running iClone that way. Talk is cheap, an actual test would be more convincing. So here is a challenge for the Linux devotees: try it. It would help quite a number of those who are stuck now.
Interesting tidbit: Microsoft and Red Hat Linux have been colloborating for over 10 years in the professional arena: https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/a-decade-of-open-innovation-celebrating-10-years-of-microsoft-and-red-hat-partnership/
