iClone 8.6 is now available. However, as with all updates there may be a few bugs, glitches or other annoying issues that remain.
Important: If you do find any bugs, issues or glitches in iClone 8.6, please can you report them first in the Feedback Tracker. Then feel free to discuss the issues in this thread but do try to include a link back to the original Feedback Tracker report or your tracker number.
As always it will help us greatly if we can keep all technical issues in the one place (this thread). This will help the development team keep track of any problems.
Please do try to provide your full system specifications and a detailed description of the problem when reporting issues and include screenshots and/or a workflow video whenever possible. If you can provide specific steps so we can try and reproduce the problem that will be even better.
If you guys intend to keep IC 8.6 as universal âanimation hubâ for both CC4.6 and CC5, then there should be a mechanism in place to allow selection where to send characters from iClone⌠to CC4 or CC5.
Right now I can send a character from CC4 to iClone, but not vise versa. Itâs asking to buy CC5, which I have no intention at the moment.
Iâd really love to try out the new iClone 8.6 after testing CC5, but I donât want to risk corrupting my ongoing projects (Iâm still working with 8.42 at the moment).
Is there any way to have the latest iClone 8.6 installed while still keeping an older version? From what I can see, it doesnât seem possible, which is really inconvenient.
One other issue is that I didnât notice the skeleton drop down and I was having issues with arm bones being all messed up in UE if I sent a motion. But I figured out that if a character was sent from v8.54 you need to select the UE4 skeleton.
Just thought Iâd throw that out there for folks that didnât realize it yet.
After the new update to the latest version of iClone v8.6 none of the created files, up until today, wonât open. It just crashes at â Process to Renderâ Everything worked fine before updating this morning.
Already made a ticket in the feedback tracker.
Edit: After downgrading to the previous version everything is working as intended. Phew
I have updated iClone to the latest version, 8.6.4427.1.
However , I cannot find Motion Live Plug In.
Has anyone else had this issue?
Am I missing something?
Updated via the hub, uninstalled, reinstalled. Same issue.
Can anyone help?
Thanks
If iClone 8.6 has been successfully installed, you should find Motion LIVE under Plugins on the Menu Bar as seen below. There is no separate plug-in to install. Do you have it listed under Plugins?
Hi Pete,thanks for your reply.
No, it is not listed under plugins.
Never had this issue before.Really strange.
All the other plugins are listed under Plugins on the menu bar.
Thanks for clarifying. If you have already tried fully uninstalling iClone and have re-installed and the issue remains, then it may be that your system registry has not been correctly updated and contains invalid data.
In this case I would advise contacting Technical Support who should be able to give you a reg cleaner to clear the erroneous registry data and allow a clean install. This should resolve the problem.
Latest version of iclone I cant add different colours to the Reasllusion made clothing from the content menu this is also a bug in CC5. Older versions it works fine.
⢠Update Character Creator to the latest version (not sure this is necessary, but this is the order of how things played out for me)
⢠Install iClone (mine is the 30-day trial)
⢠Attempt to import any Character Creator or iAvatar content into iClone.
⢠Get error messages saying you need to update your software, even though everything is the latest.
⢠I also did update all the other Reallusion content as well. Same result.
⢠Content can be sent from iClone to Character Creator successfully, but not back again.
Is this all just a limitation with the 30-day trial of iClone?
It seems that the Morph Creator in iClone 8.6 will not accept the new HD (subdivided) characters. Are there plans to make this compatible some time in the future?
Since upgrading to iClone 8.6, rendering with âTemporal AAâ causes a grey outline for almost everything, similar to what you get with the âToon Shaderâ. Swithing away from Temporal AA fixed the problem.
iClone 8.6 â Face Puppet â character with CC5 HD facial profile â âThere is no matching profile for the target character CC5 HDâ , so Face Puppet is not available in this version of iClone with characters using the new CC5 HD facial expression profile
I wish we knew what features were no longer gonna be supported rather than finding out as you come to do it then asking in here.
For sc-fi transformation type stuff. we would probably have to keep using CC4. Then it getâs messy if we start making new characters in CC5 and have a CC4 version for morph scenes with less detail.
Hopefully there is something new soon to still do this.
iClone 8.6 Viseme Lip morphs over audio file are HEAVILY muted in Unreal. While they look great in iClone, once I export into UE (using 5.5 Auto setup 1.40), the quality drops off significantly; not only that, but the character eyes also look terrible when compared to iClone; this is using the HQ shader option they still look inferior to iCloneâs version
I managed to get it fixed after uninstalling via Hub, then manually deleting all remaining files in the iclone 8 instation folder, then a fresh reinstallation via HUB.
Motion Live is back!
However, I have since noticed that Accupose is not working. Gives the message âIncompatible or corrupt AccuPOSE model was detected. Please ensure proper AccuPOSE installation and update,or reinstall the plugin.â
This happens with all characters i throw at it, old and new.
I will inform Technical Support of this issue.
They told me the Motion Live issue will be fixed in an upcoming update.
Good morning, installed and tested on second machine with ic8.6 on i9/4tb/4070.
Unable to open any project files.
Heavy work inside this weekend with holidays and we are dead in the water. If someone can help us get back to previous version, that would be better for us.
