Khentopia is a feature-length animated film that was done in iClone and Character Creator and rendered in iClone with post-processing in After Effects to achieve a kind of graphic novel look. I started the project in 2017 and finished it last year with a final updated render the beginning of this year. Here is the trailer:
The film took a long time to complete for various reasons. First of all, I was struggling with the story until 2019, when I finally had a version I liked. The second reason is of course that making a film like this is a lot of work (we are talking pre-AI). It is also hard to stay motivated and I have done several short film projects in the meantime. But now it’s done for all to enjoy. There is no general distribution yet, because I have sumbitted to a number of festivals.
Nicely done
I had seen you mention that you use after effects for a “graphic novel look”
What filter are you using??
I have been experimenting with the “cartoon filter” in my uber ancient
After effects CS6 as
well as batch processing of frames with the cartoon filter in Gimp
for an ink lined comic book style
Well done… And congratulations.
Though I am not a big fan of the “iClone look”, respect for the amount of work you spent on this.
As meaningfully filling 72 minutes is a hard and work-intensive thing.
Happy to see you weaving actual politics into your work.
And an empty “Mar-a-Lago” collection shelf is probably not the worst thing
