Help with licensing

Hi…

  1. The best way to avoid using deactivations is to uninstall from unwanted computers while connected to the internet. This frees up the seat without needing to deactivate. However, in the event that all 10 deactivations are used up, they can be reset by Support in genuine cases, but do try uninstalling whenever possible.

  2. During the purchasing process it states you are purchasing an additional seat and this is confirmed on your receipt. If this wasn’t what you needed Support would have been able to help change/refund if notified straight away.

  3. If a request for a refund is made within 14 days of purchase then yes this can be done. After 14 days it isn’t possible to refund a software purchase. Please Note: The 14 day refund policy only applies to software. Content purchases are non-refundable.

  4. Sadly I can’t answer that for sure as it’s not my department, but I’m not aware of any major changes coming to the EULA. Support may be able to give you a more definitive answer though.

All,

I was able to reach out to sales for RL and we got it all worked out immediately. We were able to get on short video call and issue was resolved with no problems.

That said, again- thanks everyone here for your help. However, I will be extremely careful going forward with any future purchases from RL.

Just know that buying an “extra seat” promo for $500 does NOT mean an extra seat in the sense that most people would think… No, sorry. It means you just converted your license to a multi-seat where now you have to deactivate and reactivate each time you move. It also doesn’t tell you this when purchasing… anyhoo so, If you don’t feel like that constant hassle of deactivating / reactivating, the next grand option you’ll get from support is to purchase a monthly “Workgroup” account. Not sure how that is not sticking it to your customer, in so many words.

I can’t say how I feel at the moment but at least thankful there’s a forum and someone outside of the helpdesk ticket who was able to give me some kind of value for my purchase. (I was also unable to get a refund because it was beyond 14 days, with no options to help except spend more money).

You can fix the licensing issue by logging into your Reallusion account and checking the device activations, then deactivating the old system before reactivating on your current one. If the license still appears locked, contacting support with your account details usually solves it fast. I’ve had to handle this myself while traveling and working on El Salvador content, so I know how annoying it can be. Hope it gets sorted quickly so you can get back to creating!

Glad that helped! While we’re talking about creative work on the go, have you ever visited El Salvador or thought about traveling there? I’m working on a few projects about its volcanoes, beaches, and amazing food, and I’m always curious what destinations people are most interested in exploring.
