In the screenshots you provided previously (now deleted), Support gave you the names of the two computers iClone 8 is currently installed on.
If these are not the two computers you wish to use, just deactivate one or both of the current installations and you will then will be able to install iClone 8 on other computers.
The bottom line is that you can have iClone 8 on two computers and you can choose which computers they are by deactivating unwanted computers.
Note: I gave instructions on how to deactivate in one of my previous replies.
Good morning Pete, in review I have spent nearly 1000 for additional licensing and still can’t get this installed without spending more money. I’m extremely frustrated and disappointed with this licensing model and it doesn’t seem like this tech is going to help me.
You’re saying one thing here in forum and the tech is saying something different. This is frustrating.
This is absolutely false according to “Eva” from tech support. Why aren’t you in the support forums? Eva is going to lose customers… the way she’s explaining this is absurd.
@studioplaceofficial You say you cannot install it without spending more money? This doesn’t make much sense. Have you tried to disable previous installations in your customer account at Reallusion, to free the licenses up for new installations, like it was suggested by @Pete_RL ?
Please tell us exactly which steps you take to install the software. Screenshots of error messages would be helpful as well.
I’ve had a look at your Support tickets and Eva isn’t saying anything different to me. She has explained that you have two seats available for iClone 8. She also listed the two computers you currently have iClone 8 activated on.
So now all you need to do is check those two activated computers and make sure they are the two computers you wish to use. If they are not, just deactivate the unwanted computers as I advised previously.
Please Note: Uninstalling while connected to the internet also works as a way to free up your license. So if you are able, always uninstall from unwanted computers to keep your licenses/seats free.
Yes. I have no problem installing. I think that the issue is simply that I don’t understand why I have to buy a 4th license.
I have provided you 1 a receipt for an additional purchase for iclone 8 in December 2024. I purchased it again last month for 499. I got the CC5 promotion with this. can you please look into this? It seems that no one is looking at the purchases I’ve made that nearly amounts to 1000 just trying to get the “additonal licdense” installed on a 3rd machine… so what are my options now?
Hi I don’t have problems installing if the license count is in my account. I purchased “additioanl seat” for iclone 8 in dec 2024. I was informed I can’t install on my son computer (I wanted to create his own account/assets). Instead RL did me a “favor” and simply added the additional seat to my account. So basically I paid for an additional seat for iclone 8 for no reason if I can’t install on my laptop.
Then last month, I purchased iclone 8 outright to get the promotion for CC5. It was 499. Went to my licenses and still not available. Reached out to support and got thrown back in this loop. I hear what you all are saying but it makes its’ really not the same from the tech and what’s being said here. You have members stating they have purchased 1 license installed on 4 machines. I am very confused.
HI all… on travel and cannot do presentation for iclone 8 on my laptop Can I at least get the 499 new iclone 8 license I purchased last month added? It’s the purchase that I am making isn’t going there and now I’m going on a month of run around with this. I need real help and real explanation as to why I can’t use the license I just bought last month for 499 in my account. this was purchased because adding the additional seat license for 199 seemingly wasn’t allowed either. I’m lost and I’ve spent well over the amount as others here in this forum have said they are allowed to.
After purchasing RL in August 2024, I got iclone and cc4 standard correct? I follow the rule. One is installed on my Home office and the other at my private studio. One is active, one is backup.
In Dec 2024, i purchased an additional seat license for iclone 8 for 199 from software store. it didn’t show up in account, I sent a message to helpdesk and said I’d have to buy another seat because of how the EULA was changed. RL then did me a “favor” since I was a “valued customer” and added what i already paid for to my account. I felt insulted. I paid for a license I didn’t receive and thenthe company added it as a favor?
In May 2025, I purchased a full iclone 8 license (i’ve provided the receipt), that gave me cc5 bonus, hoping this would solve the issue. That iclone 8 license never showed up… yet the cc5 license popped up.
Can someone please help me. Today I sit having to deactivate for a super important presentation to sell an animation training program. I paid for these additional seats and this is affecting workflow.
I have purchased the same. When realizing I couldn’t use the CC4 149 additional seat for an actual “additional seat”, I got confused. It was explained to me that I would essentially have to buy 2 additional licenses to use on 1 additional machine. I let that go. She instead put what I paid for in my account the way that I thought it would of been anyway and called it a favor for me.
Then in April, I began preparing lesson plans and purchased the promotion that now lists IC8 at 499 which had CC5 included. I wasn’t crazy on how it was bundled and anchored w points but I kept silent and ask for help from support. Same confusing EULA issue. An additional seat in my experience has always been exactly what it’s called… an additional seat. This is universal procurement language so I was honestly confused. I still am… and I have lost a few days of production because I can’t use my laptop and not sure if i should keep deactivating licenses to move around.
and based on what I have purchased, I’d love to hear what you guys think I’m supposed to have in my account. I have no idea anymore. I need both ic8/cc4 on my home device, backup at my office and on my laptop when needed. Nothing is working concurrently and I just want these on my machines and get back to work. I promise I’m not a bother…
These are helpful screenshots. You bought two additional seat licenses for Character Creator and one additional seat license for iClone. This checks out with what support was telling you. Now you have two iClone licenses (original and additional) and three Character Creator licenses (original and two additional). From your screenshots I cannot see any third iClone license. Maybe you got confused.
Well, I see one screenshot for an additional iClone license and two identical screenshots of what appears to be the same transaction for an additional CC license. According to this, @studioplaceofficial should have 2 iClone and 2 CC seats (the original plus one additional seat each).
I already had everything installed on 2 machines. Everything here is an attempt to add cc4/ic8 to a 3rd machine. It’s ok. I give up. Licensing shouldn’t be this hard. Will work with what I have.
already purchased the license. I posted my screenshot of purchasing iclone 8 last month for 499 which was supposed to give me a copy of cc5 as the bonus. I received the cc5, but not ic8. I don’t know anymore honestly.
And when we say original, are you saying that an initial purchase of iclone/cc4 will give you one seat and one backup seat? That is how I understood it.
When we buy an “additional seat”, it doesn’t mean additional seat I assume. I guess I don’t understand the language? However, if I never spent additional to get licenses, then I should still be able to have a working computer and backup with just a basic purchase of these tools.

All want to know the best way to simply add an additional license for cc4/ic8 to my laptop so I can use when needed. I’ve spent 150 in Dec to cure and then spent another 500 in May to try. Yet I can’t get an additional seat for iclone. I should of approached this differently I guess?
Well, I never tried to install iClone/CC on a second computer, so I have not tried this myself.
However, I was referring to your screenshots which mention “additional seat license” which suggests to me that you must have had at least one license each before the purchase indicated in the screenshots.
My main point was that two of the screenshots are identical, they show the same transaction. So your post that I was referencing only shows the purchase of one additional seat license for iClone and one for CC.
Before, I thought you said that you had a total of three licenses for CC and in what you have posted, I don’t see any evidence of that third license.
That you may have two installations per license, with only one machine being in actual use at any one time, is a different subject.
