[WIP] 2026 Reallusion 3d Character Contest - Ame Jouten

Welcome to The Celestial Forge. I am Ame. htis is my WIP post for the contest, starting ultra late as i only just found out about it. I will be attempting to character my main OC. Star Wars inspired but lore wise leans more into deep fantasy depending on the version of the character.
A selection of references of my character i’ve made over the year in different mediums. CSP/Aseprite from my pureref board.

As its my first time using the Reallusion CC i’ll be both learning about how to use the program, what i can do with it between itself and blender and hopefully i end up with a finished character for posing. If i can drop it into something like Unreal later that would be great butt i doubt my initial skills to do that with the time limits / learning in progress.

It took me awhile to get towardos a skin tone that i would consider close enough to be my own black american skin tone, none of the software presets were doing it for me. but i’m sure i was just using it wrong.

Messing with the CC to Blender pipeline tools, found i could color the skin a lot better in blender than in the software so far. Not sure if i’ll keep this variant but as far as a base goes, its a good starting point for my character. While they are mainly “human” in look, i’ll have to research on how to do a cloak, armor pieces and what attaches where to the character base.

I’ll try to spam regular updates here if ifeel like i’m making any progress, also going to try recording along the way for social stuff so i can see what i did along the way.

Don’t have artstation premium, can’t do a blog style post there but this is what i’ve put so far. https://www.artstation.com/artwork/QxnlLL

After i got the body dialed in, i did the face morpher with my own face to give the character more of my personality. Although i don’t think i did it quite right, its still a new tool to me. very interesting.

The custom chest armor i was working on, the flow is supposed to be more celestial in nature but due to my own limited time the best i could do to get a place holder in was a projected map of stars so it moves with the camera, close towards the original idea i want.

FIddled with the cloak idea, i think this might be where marvelous designer would be useful but as i do not have it, i got to fight wiht blender, i couldn’t quite figure out how to do a proper robe however so instead pivoted to the off the shoulder look. i tried getting the item into CC5 to bind to itse physics but that was a struggle in itself.

Belt for lightsaber, was thinking this might be a textured leahter once i find the material for it, uncertain on the lightsaber hooking area however.

wide T-pose shot of the current progress.
