What happened to my points?

i purchased the ai studio and had over 4000 points which i didnt use because im saving them so i wont run out when doing my movie. now i have 3500. i should not lose my points if i dont use them. if thats the case, i will cancel my subscription. i paid for those points and i should be able to use them at any time. how does it hurt your company if i dont use them up every month?

Hi…

If you subscribed to an AI Studio Plan then please be aware that AI Points do not carry over to the next month. This is standard practice for most AI media services

The FAQ explains this below:

It may be standard practice, but I thought you guys were better that that.

That is not all true. Many Ai video platforms carry AI points over to the next month. Here are some of them: Captions, HeyGen, Foxy AI and Wondercraft (and Ai music Suno  ). I believe allowing unused AI Points to carry over would provide a much better experience for customers. Not everyone has the same workload every month, and being able to save unused points for busier periods would make a subscription feel more flexible and fair.

For sure there are some services that allow credits to carry over but it is certainly not the norm. And when they do carry over it’s often when you purchase credits on a pay as you go basis rather than a monthly subscription (which you can do with our own DA Points).

I think it’s also fair to say the names you have given are not exactly “big hitters” in the AI field. None of the big names such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok, Kling or Leonardo give you credits that carry over as part of your subscription. In the case of Grok, they have recently introduced weekly limits and you always pay for failed or moderated generations unlike AI Studio which refunds you.

I understand your point, but I don’t think comparing your service only to the largest AI companies is necessarily the best argument. Whether ChatGPT, Gemini, or others do it doesn’t automatically make it a user-friendly policy. Large companies have made unpopular decisions before, Adobe is a good example, and many of those decisions have faced significant customer backlash.

I also appreciate that AI Studio refunds failed generations and offers pay-as-you-go points that don’t expire. Those are definitely positives. However, I still believe that monthly subscription credits expiring at the end of the billing period is a disadvantage from a customer’s perspective. If they don’t fully use what they have already paid for in a given month, that value is simply lost.

We may not agree on this, and that’s perfectly fine. I just wanted to share my feedback on this. I think allowing at least some rollover credits, whether for one month or with a reasonable cap, would make the subscription more attractive and would be a feature that benefits users rather than one they have to work around.
