I updated to version 8.5.3 today, went to Edit Motion Layer, and look at this picture:
You can’t see what the pose looks like because of these bubbles?
How do you get rid of these spheres?

Your character is obviously unusually small compared to a standard size CC3+ character. On a standard size character the spheres would be proportionate to the joints.
If you don’t plan to resize your character then you can toggle off Viewport Controller on the top right side of the Edit Motion Layer window.
