Using Fashion Gen edited clothing in Iclone

I’m having some trouble figuring out how to export Fashion Gen edited clothing into Iclone so I can animate with my edited clothing.

My workflow is:

  • Upload Character in CC & Add clothing
  • Select individual clothing and load fashion gen
  • change color of shirt using tint & Add logo by dropping png file in layers, editing size and placing position
  • Transfer to CC keeping normal
  • Save in custom, Once character is in CC with updated fashion gen clothing
  • Export - Send to Iclone

From there it shows it exporting in CC but then IClone says “Failed to Load File”. Then import failed “c:/user/byron/appdata/temp/charactercreatortemp/tempavatarwithmotionplus.iavatar” and I hit ok. Then it says “No Character or Prop selected. Please select target and try again”. However if I use the exact same clothing and everything but without any fashion gen edits it loads perfectly fine. Please help. Would love to be able to animate my characters with fashion gen created clothing

What happens if you as a temporary measure export the avatar and save it as an iAvatar file. Then load that file in iClone.

In other words, bypassing the Send to iClone option.

I did that and it doesn’t work. I am unable to load a character that is wearing FashionGen clothing. I saved the FashionGen garments separate and they will also not load.

I found the solution. Before sending anything to iClone you need to flatten the material of the garment. Apparently it doesn’t like multiple layers.

I figured out the problem. I was exporting normal and keeping layers which stopped Iclone from accepting. However when exported to CC and flattened I could then upload to Iclone. A little trial and error goes a long way. Thanks for the reply
