Hi i am have a fairly big problem for my workflow with unreal live link.
In the example in the images you will see that the Aaron model is linking and is fine.
How ever the Ariana model is not linking. In fact if i link her the link to Aaron breaks.
Now i have found this to be the case with my own custom models. Quite often it is the female models that break live link and the males work. i don’t know how or why. Names are correct on both sides, Iclone 8 and UE5.
Strange thing is it has all been working fine until 3 days ago or so. There was an update to iclone and all in one.
If i could get s solution to this it would be much appreciated. It has really messed my work up and i am now stuck in limbo till this is resolved.
In the images i have labeled them all 1a and 1 b and so on so you can see the effect activating each models live link is having.
I am using Ue5 6.1 but 7 is the same.
Here is the character transfer log
1 more update. I tried camila. She worked.
I then took her, subdivided her, put her through actor mixer, gave her cc5 expression data transferred the model to ue5 and it worked.
So there is something going on with cc5 female characters… since i have no issues with the male characters.
It’s not just you; many users, including myself, are currently experiencing this exact same bug. It started happening immediately after the iClone 8.7 update. There is a very high probability that this is a critical error caused by the new version.
Since you need to keep working, I strongly recommend downgrading for now as a temporary fix. You can find the instructions for downgrading in the link provided below. I truly hope you have backup files saved from version 8.65 so you can resume your work immediately.
Thank you so much, i was struggling to find anyone reporting this issue!
Hopefully they get a patch out soon!
We are sorry to hear you are experiencing issues with Unreal Live Link.
Please can you report the issue in the Feedback Tracker and the dev team will investigate urgently. The FT is best way to get issues logged and investigated as it is monitored directly by the relevant dev teams. Thanks.
Hi, russell2216
We found that the issue comes from accessories. If a character has any accessories, it can cause Live Link to fail. We are working on a fix as soon as possible. If you have a very urgent need, please contact Customer Support, or temporarily roll back to version 8.65.
How soon do you think this issue would be solved. It is actually driving crazy.
We already have an internal version, but it still needs more testing. If you’d like to use it earlier, you can contact customer support.
I am having the same effin problem! To they test these updates? Jeez!
None of the characters in my scene have accessories.
I downgraded to 8.65…back in business.
Thanks, I just contacted customer support. I hope they get in touch with me soon.
