Unreal crashing after using Livelink with timecode sync during export

I am seriously losing my mind over this and reallusion documentation/ tutorials are worthless with disjointed information being spread across several different tutorials is maddening.

I finally got livelink to work after watching 2 different tutorials to get the missing information. When I moved on to setting up the timecode sync I was AGAIN met with a roadblock. On the surface, it appears to work, but the moment I try render out what I literally just captured it crashes, or if I go into sequencer to view it before I render it unlinked duplicates of the characters and camera spawn in. WHY IS SUCH AN EXPENSIVE PROGRAM SO BROKEN!!! PLEASE HELP BEFORE I LOSE MY CLIENT!!!

This is a user issue in unreal engine and has little to do with iclone. What is your PC build? It sounds like you’re running out or v-ram or memory as you’re opening up the sequence. The take recorder creates spawnable actors of anything its recording so that is why you’re seeing duplicate actors. It is better this way and much more efficient to use these spawanable actors I do not recommend avoiding it. It sounds like your scene needs to be optimized for rendering which is an entirely separate subject. iClone exists in your use case to transfer the animations and characters your crash is related to unreal engine. I recommend reading some of their documentation on the sequencer.

I know your pain well, I wasted a lot of dollars on Live Link and it never works, mine just crashed when it was loading into Unreal so never got as far as creating the so called project to send them, left me high and dry, absolute waste of $700, plus the seamless link of running an animation in Iclone and Unreal at the same time, I got that to load in Unreal, but that certainly does not work either.
Iclone animation works but not Unreal, but that’s not Iclone’s fault it’s Unreal.
Livelink is reallusion’s software and as they charge so much for it, they could do a better job at supporting it and making proper videos that just don’t stop once it has finished loading!
I doubt the free users have any problems, because they probably don’t bother with it, it is just those of us who paid for it who suffer the loss.

Thank you for the feedback about Live Link.

For anyone experiencing crashing problems, please capture a screen recording showing the steps you take leading up to the crash and send this to our Technical Support team along with your full system specs including graphics card. They will then try to help you overcome the issue. Thanks.

Try this method instead of recording with the take recorder.
