Unable to Export FBX

Hello.

I’m trying to move a character I’ve created in Character Creator, through Iclone and into Unreal for animation. But when I attempt to export the figure using FBX I get the following error:

You must first purchase the content licenses in order to export FBX and USD files.

The error box gives and OK and a Buy button to buy a license, but when clicked, it takes me to my shopping cart which is empty, despite the box saying it would put the license into my cart. I own iClone 8.52 and the only non free content is a hair piece I purchased, Dorthy Thompson’s Sleek Pony Hair.

I’m not sure what the problem is, though I have made sure the hair is appropriately downloaded and I’ve Activiated both Purchased Items and my Entire Library in both iClone and Character Creator, but still get the same error. This has brought my workflow to a halt and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi…

Are trying to export the FBX from CC4 or iClone8?

Also have you tried exporting without the hair just to check if that is where the issue is. If the hair isn’t the issue, look to see if some other items of content could be causing the problem. It’s possible some free content you have used does not allow exporting and is causing the error message to pop up.

Hi Pete!

It looks like the problem was a co-worker had a morph pack on his machine that put morphs on the character without his knowledge. I was able to do a new import clean and it exported. Thanks! This was very frustrating to try and track down.

Any idea why the ‘Buy It’ button didn’t work?
