Hello
is it possible in iClone to add two Animation clips one above the other without being merged (like animation layers)??? This is very useful when mixing lips animation with another facial animation clips (like Digital Soul 100+).
There are animation layers in iClone:

In my case, I’m used to doing the “flattening route”. So basically I just flatten the clip to preserve the base motion data and then modify it “on top of it” so the modifications are applied relative to the flattened motion data if that makes sense. I do the same thing with expression data.
When you say lip motion, are you meant to use talking motions? Because in that case using the Viseme instead of Expression makes more sense.
Edit: Oh, now re-reading your question, I understand that you want to use already existing clips on top of one another. I don’t know if that’s possible but I am also curious about the answer.
Thank you Delphoi for your reply, as you see in my question, my problem is that I have facial animation clip generated from AccuFACE and I want to benefit from Digital Souls +100 facial animaton pack to make my character talking reacts during talking as I like, but when adding DS +100 animation onto my existing AccuFACE clip, they both get merged. What really is needed is to have the possibility to add animation layers in the face animaton timeline, which seems impossible and I think it should be a feature request.
I also miss this feature in the expression layer of accuFACE or other devices, as I need to mix/blend smoothly with other purchased “expressions” files. I miss the ability to add layers on top of each other and manipulate transitions. Currently, when I add another expression file, it partially mixes, but the rest of the original track from AccuFACE is lost, as if it were cut off. The only option is to perform a break, i.e. split the basic expression, and then place another expression between them. But that’s quite limiting, I don’t know why it can’t be done more easily. Iclone definitely has a big gap here that needs to be filled. It focuses on animation points for body, but when it comes to expression editing/mixing, it falls short. Have you found a solution?
