Transferring blend shapes between similar characters

I have one imported character (from Daz) that is recognized as a CC3+ character with a CC4 Extended expression profile. So far so good. I then modified that character externally, which added vertices, so I had to re-import the new character as a Humanoid.

Even though the head is identical between the two models, nothing I try seems to allow me to transfer the blend shapes from the CC3+ version and the Humanoid version.

Q: Are there any work-arounds or hacks that will facilitate the transfer of morphs between (nearly) identical characters with identical heads?

That normally should not be an issue… that is if you have not modified head geometry (vertex order), preserved an original face rig and it’s been correctly identified in Bones with standard CC bone names.

Otherwise, you had to export your character for mods as FBX with “Mesh and Expression Sequence” option. That way, even if you slightly modified the head, you may still import blend-shapes from the same fbx you imported the character back as Humanoid with “FBX with Frame Sequence” option within Edit Expressions dialog.
