With the latest version of iClone, I noticed that the thumbnail for a project does not get updated after saving. Is there a setting to enable that?
This may actually be true for all thumbnails, I haven’t checked it for other items.

I don’t recall any thumbnails ever updating – if I want to “refresh” I just go to the frame I want to use, right-click on the thumbnail, and select “Capture Thumbnail” (or something like that)
I verified that the behavior has not changed in the a latest version and still follows a status of the “Keep Original Thumbnails” box in Content Settings. Just make sure it’s not checked if you wish to generate a fresh thumb with every asset save action.
Hi 4u2ges,
If you have created and loaded your own thumbnail, you can keep Keep Original Thumbnails checked.
However, if you would like the system to generate a new thumbnail based on the current viewport, leave Keep Original Thumbnails unchecked when saving or overwriting the file.
Regards,
Thanks, that is what I usually do to keep custom thumbs for the marketplace assets ![]()
Thank you! I always had that unchecked so I don’t know what happened… ![]()
Unfortunately, the option has disappeared in my current iClone 8.75. If I check under Content, I see this:
It’s all there in iClone 7:
Also, the manual no longer alludes to this option. I don’t have a previous iClone installation to check, but something is wrong with my iClone.
Thank you again. That’s pretty far hidden…
