The Best Of Both Worlds

2D and 3D animation aren’t rivals. They’re partners.

What I’ve discovered is that the skills you learn in 2D animation, things like timing, posing and storytelling, are the exact same building blocks you need in 3D. The tools may look different, but the heart of animation is the same.

And when you put them together? That’s when the magic happens. A 2D concept sketch becomes a 3D character. A storyboard panel becomes a cinematic scene.

Are you a 2D animator curious about jumping into 3D? Or a 3D artist who wants to sharpen your storytelling with 2D techniques? How do you mix the two worlds?
