The auto-blink feature is flawed. The auto-blink option is completely pointless. Think about it: Do you blink twice often? It makes no sense. Blinking twice feels artificial. Choosing any blink mode will cause you to blink twice simultaneously. Why set it that way? Can’t you just blink once, say, every 5-8 seconds?
I’ve never noticed this before. I always use the blink function and haven’t noticed an issue in the past. Although occasionally I would see a double blink, but when it happened, it tended to synchronise with certain head movements or expression changes, so I thought it may have been an intentional. But 90% of the time I thought the characters were blinking once. So before I replied to your post, I checked one of my projects in 8.62
This is what I discovered.
Both characters have auto blink (normal) activated.
And it’s strange, I noticed one character was single blinking as it should, but the other character wasn’t blinking at all. So I changed that characters blink setting back to ‘none’ and then reselected ‘normal’ and it started blinking normally (single blink).
But then when I checked the other character, that was blinking normally, I noticed it was now randomly double blinking, usually a 2-3 blink cycles in a row and then would return to a normal single blink. I tried the same thing with this character, changing the blink setting to ‘none’ and then back to ‘normal’, but it didn’t change anything.
So yeah, I think there is something a bit strange going on there.
Hi gaweiwei,
First, could we confirm which version of iClone you are using?
Also, do you have a sample video showing the double blink issue?
The Auto Blink feature triggers blinks randomly, so we haven’t been able to fully reproduce the behavior you described. However, we’d like to understand more about your case and explore possible improvements.
At this stage, if the Auto Blink frequency doesn’t achieve the effect you need, we recommend using Face Puppet to manually control the blinking. This allows you to fine-tune both the speed and frequency according to your preference.
Version 8.62 is the same as the previous version. You can see the effect by turning on the automatic flashing playback for 30 seconds. It will automatically flash twice in a row, which is completely inconsistent with the flashing method of the human eye. Whether it is random or specified mode, it will flash twice in a row, which is very unreasonable.

Thank you for providing the video.
The double blink you observed is actually an intended behavior. It was designed to mimic natural human blinking, as people occasionally blink twice in quick succession — so this effect occurs randomly by design.
That said, we truly appreciate your feedback and will share your suggestion with our development team to see if there’s room for improvement.
For now, if the Auto Blink frequency doesn’t achieve the effect you need, we recommend using Face Puppet to manually control the blinking. This allows you to fine-tune both the speed and frequency according to your preference.
The eyes don’t blink once, they blink twice. This is very random and weird. They blink once, then blink twice in a row. This isn’t designed to mimic a natural human blink. This is a problem. Selecting another mode is even more outrageous, blinking three times in a row.
Alternatively, can you report it in the Feedback Tracker and provide your project file for further investigation. This will allow the team to review your actual project setup and assess possible improvements.
