Strange discounts show up in the Marketplace

Over the past few months, I’ve noticed some strange things with discounts being indicated on the Marketplace pages:

  1. Some products show a 100%-off discount (which would make them free), however, if you go to the product page, there is no discount anymore (or, in some cases, a different one), meaning there must be some kind of mistake. Some current examples can be found on the “What’s New” page.
    This problem is also not exactly new and was raised here but without answers and obviously the issue has not been fixed.

  2. I’ve even seen products with negative discounts, meaning that the crossed-out price above the “current” price was actually lower than the price at the bottom. Why is that even possible? Why can discount rates lower than 0% and higher than 100% even be entered/displayed?

Is nobody checking this? The creators who upload the products or Reallusion?

If you see any discounts being offered that are incorrect, please always contact Support to let them know. They will then ensure you get the correct price and will rectify the error on the product page.

Are you telling me that I should contact Support (in addition to all the other stuff I have to bring to their attention) every time I see this particular issue, or only if I’m actually interested in the affected item?

You see, I believe this to be a fundamental problem and I don’t think it is my job—as a paying customer—to “police” the Marketplace for things that the Marketplace software should catch (and if it does not, then that is a job for the software team to fix). With all due respect, I think Reallusion should look into this as a matter of principle, not just on a case by case basis after somebody contacted Support. It’s not an issue of me getting the correct price (whichever that is), but that potential buyers are not being misled by discounts on the “overview” page that do not exist on the product page.

By the way, it also happens the other way around: the “overview” page shows no discount, but the product page does, and the item can be purchased at that discounted price. Maybe it is just me, but I believe the “overview” page (e.g. What’s New) and the individual product page should show the same price/discount.
