Hey everyone!
I’d like to share a Showcase Spotlight featuring a high-definition character creation pipeline that shows how stylized action heroes — inspired by Battle Royale aesthetics — are built using Character Creator 5 (CC5) together with ZBrush, Blender, and Substance Painter.
Who’s behind this?
This showcase was created by Luis Duarte, a 3D digital artist specializing in character creation for animation and video games. Luis focuses on stylized aesthetics, crafting expressive and visually striking designs by combining professional techniques with a simplified, stylized visual language.
What’s the workflow about?
- Starts with a neutral CC5 base mesh to establish silhouette, rigging, and morphology.
- Uses morph sliders in CC5 to craft dynamic body proportions for stylized characters.
- Sculpt head structure in ZBrush then transfer high-density detail back into CC5 via HeadShot 2.
- GoZPlus is used for iterative detail refinement and map baking between ZBrush and CC5.
- Models clothing and accessories with clean UVs for reuse across characters.
- Final textures are painted in Substance Painter for a stylized, painterly look.
This workflow highlights how CC5’s HD pipeline can produce stylized, animation-ready characters with professional detailing through subdivision, sculpting, and texturing.
