Scale tool in curve editor crashes iclone

There are very few cases where I can use scale tool safely.
Selecting a few keyframes, from a few different channels, and attempting to scale the curves, is about a 50 / 50 chance off crashing iclone. Even with quite few curves.

Speaking of curve editor, I’ve used Mayas, 3dsmax, blender’s, and unreal, all professionally as an animator - iclone’s curve editor ranks lowest, because it is very feature sparse, and slow performance

It lacks e.g. “loop pre / post infinity” tangents, it lacks math operators (e.g. add 10 to every selected key value) and selecting the right channels is slow - it should have a selection set feature. Also more hotkeys e.g. select all keyframes. Need euler filter to remove rotational flips (happens quite often with e.g. reach target offset values). And I’d love the mouse to be able to add/remove keyframe from a specific curve with a modifier-click, to work faster. Just basic features like this.

If iclone is supposed to be a software made for animators to love specifically, to be easy to animate quickly, why does it have the worst curve editor of all competitors?

Hi @oyvind_020330,

We apologize for the experience you’ve had while using iClone. Our team is actively working to improve the software and address these issues.

Could you kindly send us a screen recording and the project file that shows the Curve Editor causing iClone to crash? This will help our team investigate the issue further.

Thank you

I can’t share project files due to NDA reasons.

All I can say is the characters are made with accurig originally, have some custom bones added in blender, and we’ve sculpted a few extra blendshapes from whats normal.

PS: editing blendshape keyframes in curve editor are more “crashy” than regular body keyframes, using scale tool.

Hi @oyvind_020330,

Could you please use an embedded character, or any non-copyrighted character, to replicate the workflow that leads to the crash?

Also, could you please send us your Crash Dump files for further investigation? You may email them to us at winnerhung@reallusion.com, or upload them to a drive and share the link with us.

You can find the files in the following path:
C:\Users(username)\AppData\Local\CrashDumps

Thanks!
