Root Offset Problem When Retargeting iClone Animations to Unreal Engine (Character Sinks and Jumps Forward)

Hello everyone,

I’m having a retargeting problem in Unreal Engine 5. My character is an owl that I rigged in Character Creator 4 to use for motion capture with the Rococo Smart Suit. I then retargeted these motion capture recordings onto the original owl I had in UE, which had pre-made animations. When I merge the retargeted motion capture animations with the animations of the original owl in the sequencer, my owl jumps forward slightly and sinks a little into the ground. I suspect the root is positioned a bit higher in Iclone. Aligning to previous clips in UE doesn’t help. I think I need to fix the problem in Iclone before exporting. Does anyone have any ideas? Time is running out, the project is due soon, and I’m getting a bit desperate. I’m really hoping to get some helpful advice here.
