Revert CC3+ Back To CC1 for Textures/Materials

Wondering if this is possible for Character Creator. Does anyone have an addon/plugin/software that will allow CC1 models to use CC3+ textures/materials?

Somehow reverting a CC3+ model back to a CC1 model layout could work.

There’s no way of converting a CC3+ backwards to a CC1.

Why would anyone want to do that anyway? The CC3+ characters present so many improvements and advantages over the old CC1 set.

A game was created using CC1 characters. I’d like to upgrade them without having to completely recreate the game. Character and animation swaps, acculips, camera work. We’re talking hundreds of hours.

In Unity, I’m able to swap in skinned meshes like hair and clothes, but the body textures are the only thing I can’t change. Just seeing if it’s at all possible.

Unfortunately as Wires already explained, it isn’t possible to convert CC3+ back to CC1. You can convert CC1 or CC3 to CC3+ but not the other way around.

Once you have a CC3+ character saved you can then only convert to Game Base, or actorBUILD character.

Try doing this, since you can use the original skeleton. Export your new characters and see if you can import the mesh only in Unity, keeping your original skeleton that is set up already.

I hear you. I figured there wasn’t a way to revert back to CC1. Just wanted to make sure.

In Unity, I tried overwriting the original CC1 fbx with the new CC3+ fbx. The animation for the body worked just fine, but the eyeballs and jaw dropped down to the neck when using the previous animations.

In a way, this might actually work. Sure I’ll need to replace the animations, but at least the models will keep their prefabs and locations in the timeline. I’ll keep experimenting with it.
