Would like to roll some boulders down the mountain but the :Self Mesh" is too blocky to allow a smooth roll down. I though maybe reducing the poly-count of the mountain might help but didn’t seem to. The “height” seems to be the issue. If I lower the height of the mountain the mesh seems smooth but as I extend the height of the mesh it gets blocky. Hopefully I’m missing something.
We have been discussing a similar topic Mark, if you remember.

That is when I figured that on overlay large scaled objects, self mesh would bound blocky on fairly low poly mesh. So you need to add geometry to you mesh/terrain to have less self-mesh blocks, but not go over 60-70K tris. Otherwise it will take forever to calculate self-mesh or convert to terrain (which does self-mesh automatically).
So either scale it down and rebuild self-mesh, or add more geometry to the object but stay below 50K for “safety”.
Something like that would do

Fantastic! Great solutions as always. Thanks ![]()
