I created this CC4 character with a suit I made. I sent it to UE5 and it appears that only the skin is casting shadows. The suit, boots, and gloves are not casting a shadows. I did see a topic on the old forums regarding this issue stating set the material to two sided. Well it appears to be set to two sided in UE5 and in iClone 8.5.
Anyone else have this problem? Any idea how to fix it in iClone or UE5?
Check to see if the parent shader has the ‘cast raytracing shadows’ option on. It should be under RL_Standard. I usually make a duplicate for clothing.
If Cast Raytraced Shadows is turned on in the RL_Standard material, then the problem definitly must be in the material of the cloth.
Did you export the character from IClone directly? If so… try exporting it from Character Creator instead! I found out, that FBX exports from IClone and CC are not exactly the same …
In UE5 open the suit material and in the general section make sure the parent is RL_Standard. Cause the iclone export sometimes uses the RL_Standard_Opacity which contributes to this shadow missing issue. See if it helps.
