Motion Direction Lacking

Why can we still not import animation from Unreal and other place into IC to use with Motion Direction?

I mean Motion Direction was in IC5 they brought is back in IC8 and we are still limited to the over priced packs they sell

we cant make use outside animation with Motion Direction like the walks or flying
even fighting

and a huge lack of landscape or the ability to import them and this is a paid program unlike Unreal Unity and Blender yet we are so limited in what we can do unlike the free programs where its unlimited and you can import and make anything

Have you considered exporting your animated character to one of the free superior environments such as UE5 or Blender?

So to pay almost $600 for animation software just to have to use the free software is crazy
And pointless why is IClone a thing if you can’t do anything with it and you have to go use free software that doesn’t even make any sense

I pay for the software and took the time to learn how to use it and then I have to go use free software just to animate anything or make a scene when I clone is specifically an animation software. It’s not like I’m trying to make a video game or anything. I just wanna make simple animated shorts and I can’t even do that because the paid software is lacking and then people on here suggesting that I use a free software is asinine you should be standing with me in solidarity if you also paid for this lacking program.

I started using Iclone at version 5 but stopped upgrading at version 7 so I can’t comment on “Motion Director”in version 8.
You don’t need other software to animate anything in Iclone.

However Iclone had “unsufficient” large outdoor scene/landscape abilities back when I started with version 5 and that really has not changed much IMHO.

There are some really decent indoor and outdoor sets & props in the Reallusion content store
https://www.reallusion.com/contentstore/index.html?menuitem=ic_props&platform=windows&nav=top

And Reallusion offers excellent dedicated export and conversion tools for the free game engines and the free Blender as well
But you will need CC4 to get the best results from your exports.

To my knowledge, Motion Director requires you to keep a base movement layer which you cannot remove. So you’re not able to fully customize or create a motion set from scratch, you can just insert some custom motions into the set or slightly modify existing motions.

So, for example, you cannot create a base movement were a character is limping or hopping. You can only take the original smooth movement and add another movement to the upper body. I believe you can insert a limping/hopping motion and trigger it with a button, but that’s not steering a character while it’s limping/hopping.

I’m pretty sure Reallusion originally promised that we will be able to fully create our own motion sets, but this never happened.
