I have a fast T7 SSD drive I’ve cleared space on to use for MD caching when working on crowd sims. I’ve updated the motion cache folder location in iClone, restarted the app and restarted my computer.
Problem: iClone appears not to have switched MD cache to my external SSD. Disk space is consumed on the internal drive and not the fast external drive.
Question: are there additional steps and settings to impose MD cache on my external drive?
If it doesn’t work by changing a setting in iClone you can always create junction on Windows. For this, move (not copy!) your folder to another drive (for example, from C to D), open the command prompt as administrator and write the command
mklink /j C:\Former\Path\To\Folder D:\Path\To\Folder
and press Enter. This will create a junction on C that points to D. For all programs it still looks like the folder is stored on C.
