mc-iclone8-mcp — Today’s Update

Today we expanded the iClone 8 MCP plugin with new capabilities based on Reallusion’s official iClone 8 Python API.

New improvements include:

  • Advanced camera controls, including focal length and depth-of-field key management.
  • Extended material control: color channels, UV data, texture weights, video textures, opacity, self-illumination, and tessellation attributes.
  • Advanced light controls: intensity, range, shadows, spot beams, IES files, rectangle lights, and tube lights.
  • Facial and voice features: expressions, auto-blinking, visemes, and vocal loading.
  • Additional import/export tools for objects, Alembic, OBJ, and GLB files.
  • Thumbnail extraction from iClone assets.
  • iClone application diagnostics and content-folder browsing.
  • Updated English and French documentation.
  • Installation instructions for Codex, Claude Code, Pi, OpenClaw, Hermes, and VS Code.
  • A complete update procedure for replacing the plugin and refreshing MCP clients.
  • New practical examples with scene prerequisites for modeling, materials, animation, cameras, avatars, lighting, rendering, and import/export workflows.

The project remains focused exclusively on iClone 8 and uses the official Python API. Experimental API features are clearly documented and must be verified with the installed iClone version.

Feedback, testing reports, and compatibility notes are welcome.
