I have put together some morphs pack a long time ago which is on marketplace.
Now I noticed recently that those sliders marked as a premium item in my CC4 (sliders are green). Same sliders in CC3 (which I still have installed) are grey.
Moreover, I have checked, those sliders are in Custom Content and have extension .ccCustomSlider.
So this is against the logic - licensed items in Custom Content?
What that essentially means, is if I use those sliders on a character and send it to marketplace, customers would be forced to buy a morphs pack. And I do not want that to happen.
I just made a quick test applying one morph and sent it to marketplace. This is what it looks like:
Any content that is uploaded to the Marketplace will have DRM and appear as such in CC4. Even your own content if it is sourced from the Marketplace.
However, if you have the original morphs saved locally that were never uploaded to the Marketplace, then these should be usable on a new character and shouldn’t contain any DRM.
Hi Peter,
As far as I remember I did not download those sliders back from marketplace… and as I said, in CC3 (that is where I originally developed those and packed) they are still license free… I’ll see if I could find where they are stored in CC3.
I have other sliders on marketplace and those are not premium locally in CC4.
But OK , it was very confusing, but I figured it out. Apparently in 2021 I used Verify function for those and it downloaded them locally. CC3 was not affected but CC4 somehow sensed it and decided it has to make original set in completely different folder to be premium.
So I just deleted those originally downloaded, restarted CC4 and all is back to normal. Sigh…
@Nirwana I have like 2 weeks differential backup on 5TB drive, but cannot afford more .
