Invalid Content Links ( 73 Animals Pack)

Hello, ive purchased the "73 Animals Pack " a while ago, now i find out the performance links are all invalid (which are hundrets of them). Is there an easy way to correct this ? They all point into the wrong folders. (tested on 2 different Installations on 2 different Workstations with the same result). Unfortunately that pack is not availabla any more so i wont dare to re-install it. Editing the performance List is not an option.

I suspect the pack has been removed from the marketplace because of the reasons above.

One way would be to copy or move the motion files to where they are expected. Where are they currently?
I have older packs like that and the motions work.

They are currently under animation/motion/ … subfolder for each animal. The expected path would be motion/Truebone_Z-OO/ , some even expect the motions to be on drive D somewhere in a strange path. I thought i could fix that by editing the files that iclone uses to locate them but couldnt find any yet. True, i probably need to create and move them into that path above. Just hope iclone doesnt get mixed up with that because it may point to files that dont exist in their original content manager path/folder.

One other question: is this a new installation into iClone 8? If so, it should have made adjustments to get the right path. However, a very old pack might not have had adjustments to it. I remeber having some trouble with Perform actions for older content.

Yet another question: do you have iClone 7 or earlier and does it work there?

Install from Dec 2024 on IC8.52 IIRC.
Yes i do have IC7, but cant install that pack because its not in the store anymore. Cant also not check if its been designed to work with IC7.
Wrote a mail to support as well, lets see what they say about it.

The pack should still be listed in your inventory in your user account. If it is an old pack it will definitely work in iClone 7.

It should install in iClone 7, because it also has a Smart Gallery, which should list the item and if it is not installed you should be able to install it.

I have legacy items and they do show up in iClone 7 and can be installed.

What is a bit of a concern is that your iClone version is not the latest. The IIRC designation seems to indicate that this is a version that was part of Beta testing. I’m pointing this out because I have had issues when I was a Beta tester myself and there were some mix ups with the locations of content.

Anyway, I hope support can provide some clarity and a resolution.

Thanks kindly for your replies

IIRC meant "if i remember corrently "
In beetween got answer from support which is a bit stange though.
"The Perform way was an old way to animate props, please try to find the related motion files in the pack directory, " Which makes me wonder if “newer” packs would use the perform list at all. In my eyes the perform list is a great function for individual characters, you dont have to search the content, animations are right there with a right click.

Sorry. :astonished: And I tried to clever…

The Perform list is still present in Iclone 8.x, so I don’t understand their reply. It seems that they want you to apply the motions directly instead of using the Perform list. I have some older animatable animals and they all have a working Perform list. Also, they talk about animating props, whereas we are talking about characters of type Creature, at least that’s type of my animals.
