iClone crashes when importing and export FBX files

Hello. I have a very serious problem with importing and exporting FBX files. During these processes, iClone crashes. Can you give me some ideas? I am using the latest version of iClone 8.53.

Hi…

Is the crashing issue happening with every import and export or only with certain models?

If it’s happening with every import and export, then there may be an issue with your current installation. In this situation I would recommend uninstalling iClone and then perform a clean install of the latest full version using the Reallusion Hub.

Obviously reinstalling is no fun but it is normally the quickest option rather than trying to narrow down the cause through trial and error.

I reinstalled iClone several times on a clean slate, the problem with the program crashes continues. When importing and exporting, iClone crashes. It doesn’t matter what the file is. Only FBX extension.

I don’t have this problem on my second computer. I have two iClone licenses to use it on both of my computers.

If the problem is only happening on one computer then it would appear a local system issue rather than an iClone problem.

Have you checked Windows updates and graphics driver versions on the computer that is working fine and made sure the problem computer has the same (if there is similar hardware). Making a simple change such as updating (or rolling back) graphics drivers may resolve the problem.

I solved the problem. WINDOWS registers iClone as a virus. I did the following.
In WINDOWS protection, I added iClone.exe to controlled folder access - Add an allowed application.

Glad to hear you have resolved the problem, although it’s very strange that iClone is being detected as a virus. I use Windows Security (Defender) and I’ve never had any issues with iClone at all.

Just to be on the safe side it might be worth running a full system scan on your computer just in case there isn’t something else present infecting your files.

I got this issue with the latest update of Iclone 8.6. It used to be absolutely fine exporting a FBX maya (motion pipeline), but since running the update, it just freezes on 54% any file, character, source location, destination. I have had bugs in the past after a update and really dislike Iclone does not let you roll back to a older version before the update. Never the less, anyone still encountering this and has anyone had succes solving it?

Sorry to hear you are experiencing issues exporting. Please visit the link HERE to find out the best way to get help with this issue. Our Support department can also help if you need to roll back to a previous version.

I have the exact same thing - export to FBX hangs at 54%. Seems to be happening with files with larger frame ranges (e.g. I had no problem exporting 600 frames, but now I’m trying to export 5000 frames and it is hanging)

I have a solution to solve the problem:
Swith to lite mode before exporting the fbx.

(if your character have a constraint or reach, remember to flatten the animation )
