iClone 8.74 introduces full compatibility with AccuFACE 2, enhanced facial expression curve mapping in Motion LIVE, material unification tools, FBX SDK 2020 updates, and several stability and performance bug fixes.
Added
Motion LIVE
- AccuFACE 2 Compatibility: Motion LIVE is now fully compatible with AccuFACE 2.
- Expression Curve Settings: Supports freely adjustable curve mapping directly in Motion LIVE, allowing capture signals to drive expression responses and intensity with precise control.
- Tongue Only Optimization: Includes an option for AccuFACE 2 to disable the feature and revert to the previous behavior.
- Set Neutral (Partial): Grab the neutral expression of any specific facial part.
- Set Custom Neutral Panel: Added two new functions:
- Zero All: Sets all parameters to zero.
- Zero Out: Sets all selected parameters to zero.
General
- Link Identical Texture Maps: Option to link and instance identical texture maps throughout a project.
- Unify Materials by Name: Option for CC Avatar Creator materials, allowing multiple materials with the same name to be merged into a single material.
Enhanced
Motion LIVE
- Renamed the Set Zero Pose button to Grab Neutral Pose.
General
- Renamed the original Consolidate Materials function to Unify Materials.
- Removed application dependency for HD Content in iClone 8. HD Content can now be used without installing Character Creator 5.
- Materials can now be renamed with a double-click (changing the name for the CC Base Body is still not permitted).
FBX Import
- Updated to FBX SDK 2020 to support FBX material imports with metallic, roughness, glow, diffuse, normal, opacity, and AO settings.
Fixed
Motion LIVE
- The starting frame of the Motion LIVE Viseme track and Expression clips are now properly aligned.
FBX Export
- Fixed an issue where nodes within FBX files exported from iClone were incorrectly recognized as bones in third-party software.
AI Render
- AI Render is now fully compatible with iClone 8.71 and later.
Content
- Fixed a crash that could occur when certain items from the Injury & Rescue content pack were downloaded by double-clicking or applied to an empty scene. (This issue did not occur when downloading the entire pack or using “Install Content” from the right-click menu).
Unreal LiveLink
- Tearlines on HD characters imported into Unreal Engine now render correctly. Previously, the Tearline material was set to Before DOF, preventing it from appearing properly in the viewport.
- Live Link transfers to Unreal Engine are now more stable, resolving issues that caused unexpected connection interruptions.
