how to lower poly counts or textures to avoid freezing?

i’m trying to create and animate a soccer team. all characters are cc4 i believe. which is super detailed, and high poly. so when i try to animate them or even put 5-6 characters in one scene, my pc starts to lag or freeze. i have a decent pc.

my strategy thoughts: converting the characters into humanoids?
lowering polygon decimating them in blender?
smaller textures for them?
since i can’t repack them as cc characters, i think i should convert them into humanoids and animate from there?
