It depends on why you are doing traditional film or CG animation.
Yes, AI generated videos and images can look great already (and will improve further in future) and if the final result is all you are after then AI may be the way to go. However, for me, it’s the creative process, the tinkering with settings, and trying stuff—not such much the end product.
That being said, it can also be frustrating to see how much time it would take me to get something that just requires a decent prompt for an AI to make.
Now, under strictly commercial considerations, i.e, when you are trying to make money with what you put out, then, obviously, the most cost-effective, efficient and fastest tool set is the one to use, whether that is a 3D application or AI or a combination of both.
