how do i make a torn off face in CC5?

im trying to make a character who is missing some of his face. i have managed to achieve the look in blender with alpha masks but i want to make it natively in CC5 because i feel like im making it more complicated than it needs to be.

is there a way to achieve this in CC5? Im so sorry if im explaining this poorly :')

You can edit the texture you have in Photoshop (or another image editor) and then use that as the Diffuse texture under the texture tab. You will have to be careful of the UV seams between the back of the head and the neck area. That’s how I would approach it. I’m sure there are other ways too.

You can also try Edit Mesh and hide the part of the face you don’t want. The edges may no be that smooth though.

I tried that and the edges become too ragged, unless there is a trick. So using Opacity as lightbearer suggests may be a better option.
