The 4K texture is the same as the 2K one. Is that a bug?
It also happens with the denim skirt—the texture from the high-resolution folder is exactly the same.
To be honest, it is somewhat disappointing to see the difference between the characters’ skin and the quality of the clothing, considering that you have sample clothing with much higher-quality denim fabric a 2048.
Hi…
If you drag the 4K MaterialPlus onto the jeans you will have 4K textures as can be seen in the image below. Check this in the materials tab of the Modify Panel.
Hi,
Thank you for the feedback regarding the texture resolutions.
To clarify, the 4K textures provided are the original sample. We put a significant amount of effort into optimizing our compression methods so that the 2K versions retain as much of the original detail as possible. Because this compression is highly efficient, the visual difference between the 2K and 4K maps may appear minimal in some cases. (You may still see some noise on the edge of 2K textures, which isn’t the case in 4K.)
We appreciate your input. Feedback like this helps us evaluate our current standards, and we will keep looking for ways to improve the quality of our high-resolution assets in the future.
thanks for the replys.
As you can imagine, the issue isn’t the size but the texture quality. It looks like it was taken straight from the actor cores. A pants texture at 4096 × 4096 should have spectacular definition. Of course the drop in resolution isn’t noticeable because even the 4096 version is incredibly blurred.
At the very least, there should be consistent quality across all clothing pieces. In the end, with the skirt, I requested a refund because the quality doesn’t even come close to the other clothing items.
I’d also like to take this opportunity to ask you to review the skin casting, especially for the Caucasian female characters. They look like they were made at 6 a.m. in a nightclub — with lots of marks around the eyes and even sock marks on the legs.
You should consider using people with cleaner skin as the base for the textures.
