Hair from meta tailor to cc5

I imported a character from cc5 into meta tailor, added clothes and long hair. Did the physics preview in Meta tailor. Everything tested well, including the hair. Imported the character back into cc5 and posed it. All works except the long hair acts as a solid helmet instead of bending and flowing to follow the character’s movements like it did in Meta tailor. What am i missing?

You need to set up the physics in CC. See this tutorial.

UGH! This tutorial requires that i use Blender, a software whose UI i loathe and have avoided for years. A software whose tutorials are generally useless because Blender constantly changes where things are which kills so many tutorials that are only slightly old. Metatailor does not generate a weight map for the hair. Unless there is some other way (besides Blender) to create a weight map, metatailors hair models are useless in CC5. I can’t activate physics in CC5 without that map.

Blender is not required. You can create your weight map in any 2D image editor. Check the “Advanced Editing” section on this page to edit the weight map in your preferred image editor.

Thanks for your help. In the end, no matter what i did, i was unable to achieve what i wanted so i dumped the MetaTailor hair and picked up a Reallusion hair pack that works much better.
