I have an annoucement to make!
“Video not available” Garry !
Thanks. Youtube flagged the music as copyright even though the music I used was provided by Capcut for commercial use. I re-edited it and uploaded a new version.
I started animation with 3D in the 1990’s and only recently Migrated to 2D as well as comics & graphic novels.
If you are using Blender as your final render destination
be aware that you have what we call
non photorealistic options in Blender(NPR)
that you may wish to investigate as well if you find yourself missing that “vibrancy” of your 2D work
Man I love this community. Everyone is so helpful and encouraging. Thanks for that! Love the work!
Here’s a idea for you that you may appreciate, Gary. 2.5D animation - it’s something i’ve been meaning to do as well
Sample of what i mean, I first discovered it with the Guildwards 2 Games - arena net went out of their way to hire some of the best artists in the game industry - and some of the stuff they were creating in the early days was in a class of its own. Most of the big artists that kick started the game are not there anymore, so this is old school gw2 art. - the first part is the 2.5D - then it cuts into full 3D game footage.
You name it the possibilities are endless.
I come from 2D with experimental programming and one day i stumbled over this animated clown face somewhere on the web. My first purchase then was CTA3, then CTA4,5 and all the IC and CC’s later on. Few years later i got almost anything from RL, Particles, Headshots, Skingens ect ect and i learn new stuff daily. It became an addiction somehow. With just one snag though, i could not confirm that people on the web give some kind of feedback (Outside of the RL forum) Of corse i would consider myself beeing still in a rather beginners state then an expert, but it seems to me like people simply dont appreciate the effort at least.
On the other hand what makes me really happy is the ability to just sit down and create something that came on my mind without scratching 100ts of tools together, its all there now ready to use.
Welcome to the 3D Universe
Great news Garry. There’s sure to be some frustration and head scratching along the way, but your long experience of 2D character creation and animation should shorten that learning curve. Can’t wait to see your fantastic character designs come alive in the 3D world.
Thats so nice! Thanks for sharing.
I agree. The ability for an individual, rather than a whole team with a big budget, is able to sit down and produce high quality animation now is incredbie. It unleasehes a lot of creatives who otherwsie never wouldve had the opportunity.
Thanks man. Oh there has been more than head scratching. I have my share of days where things just wont sink in. I nearly quit three times already. But I stuck with it and I cannot tell you how glad I am. Once it starts to click, you see whats possible. Not today, but eventually. Thanks for your kind words.
