I created a G3 Character in CA 4. I wanted to use it in CA 5 but I get this message when I click on the Action Menu. “Failed to load animation data.” " Confirm related Animation Pack has been installed and completed."
When I click on Action Menu, I get a full list of actions but I cannot get the prop/character to work. It is fine in CA 4.
Can anyone tell me where the Animation Pack for CA 5 is? Or provide any help.
Addition: Further to my original post. I have discovered I cannot load some actor files. It says content was saved in newer version (I am up to date) please update program or download legacy version.
Do you still have Cartoon Animator 4 installed to verify this character is still working there?
If it is, then it is likely that you used animations in CTA4 that are not present in CTA5 but of course the problem is identifying the missing animations.
If you do have CTA4 installed, then you can open the Action Menu which should help you identify the required animations. Then if necessary you can rebuild the Action Menu in CTA5.
I used Athlete Tim for the bone structure. I tried loading this individual in CA5 (I tried others as well) but I got the same message. It would seem some of the characters have not been transferred properly. The image on those I tried appeared a little out of focus.
I have discovered although I cannot animate some characters using their Action Menu some of those (corrupted!) characters will work if I go to Animation and use one of those actions. This is a work-around but not ideal. I am not very computer knowledgeable, but it seems to me that parts of CA5 are corrupted. Uninstalling and reinstalling has not solved the problem. Some characters work, some do not. My copy of CA4 works but I haven’t tried all the options as there are too many and of course it is not as advanced as CA5. But there is definitely something wrong with parts of CA5 and I do not know how to restore it so it all works properly.
If you have reinstalled CTA5 then it is unlikely there are any corrupted installation files (unless there is an hard drive issue causing the corruption).
The problem is more likely with the saved content files such as the Action Menus. If the animations themselves are working fine then you should be able to rebuild the Action Menus in CTA5.
However, if you do still keep encountering these kinds of errors even with the latest version of CTA5 installed, then please feel free to contact our Technical Support department who will try to help you resolve the problems.
