So, I’ve been fiddling with CC4 under the hope that it might be a slightly faster way to get from point A to B on less important characters vs making everything from scratch. It’s been fine for things that look mostly human, but running into an issue with this one, trying to push things a bit. It’s a CC3+ base. I’ve been able to squash a lot of facial expression on the skull side, but some of the expressions and morphs still cause deformation on that side. Is there a way of freezing verts in an area more generally, or of manually adjusting the facial weight painting? Any help would be greatly appreciated
Skin weights cannot be changed for Standard CC3 characters. The only way is to tweak individual morphs and remove influence for one side of the face. While most of the morphs have L/R definition, those few “singled out” morphs could be tweaked in Blender fairly easy.
Here is a demo:
For all the left/right morphs, you can click the tiny gear icon at the upper-right of the slider in the Facial Profile editor and select “Remove Morph Data”.
Then your expressions will only morph on one side. But the visemes will still need editing as 4u2ges shows.
You will also need to edit your wrinkle maps if the original mesh is showing. Or turn wrinkles off.
