Force imported NPC animation (iclone) to look at player (Unreal)

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help-

I have NPC animations I’ve created in iClone and imported into Unreal 5.6 via live link; I’ve recorded them in Unreal’s Take Recorder, which creates an animation sequence along w/a level sequence. I’m trying to figure out how to make the imported NPC anim look at the player character. I’ve googled and it suggests either doing it in a level sequence via a “look at” constraint, or creating an entire anim blueprint for the NPC and doing it there.

I’ve seen CC tuts on youtube where they use the CC rig in sequencer, but I’ve not seen where an imported animation can be adjusted in sequencer w/a CC rig and that “look at” constraint be added to the head bone. Can someone help?

Not sure this will work, but have you tried doing it via an additive animation layer? You don’t have to mess with the original that way, and I’m pretty sure all normal Unreal animation functionality, including constraints, works in an additive layer.
