Any advise or logic on what’s happening with Marketplace searches?
I’m having trouble searching and tagging for search (with title and keywords) for things in the Marketplace. I uploaded a Thanksgiving Turkey but had the hardest time finding it afterwards even though turkey is in the title and keywords.
If I search for Turkey using “Deep Search” I only get chickens, vultures, and other birds. If I search for Turkey using “Keyword Search” I only get cartoon human characters. BUT, I have an asset named Thanksgiving Turkey (changed from Turkey because that didn’t work).
So, I have turkey in the title, turkey in the keywords, but the only way my turkey comes up is if I do a keyword search for “Thanksgiving Turkey”.
That explains part of the issue. The Marketplace Tags don’t include turkey, thanksgiving, etc. in the options checklist and there doesn’t appear to be a way to add those words. I did included turkey and thanksgiving to the “Hash Tags” list.
Also, I can’t add those tags to the individual actor asset.
Am I missing something in how to add those keywords? The only options in the management tool are the tags I mentioned.
Oh, wow! I have not submitted characters for a while and now I see there are indeed two fields with tags (I was not aware of that). The first set displayed on content page (strict) and the other one (hash tags) they claim is for the text search on marketplace.
But apparently, as you said, hash tags do NOT seem to work (on your item at least). With “turkey” as search keywords with default “relevance” filter, a whole bunch of unrelated items listed first, while your directly relevant item is somewhere at the end of the list on the second page. There is chance that hash tags are not indexed yet, but I am rather speculating.

When this change took place? Was there an announcement?
I started looking at my past character submissions and I see quite a mess now all over the place.
Marketplace tags are still there (rolled over from original), but they’re mostly red (invalid?) and the item cannot be edited/saved unless marketplace tags are fixed manually.
And Hash Tags field is empty! It should have been populated during roll over from the original tags - isn’t it logical?
The only positive point is, that original tags are still on past content pages and search is working quite well. So in the end, does that mean Marketplace tags are working and Hash tags do not?
Thanks for looking into your submissions. I guess I’m not crazy after-all. I’ve been spending the last 2 hours trying to figure out how to get those tags in there. I thought maybe if I tagged them in the character - nope. I thought maybe in the packager - nope. I think I’ll quit for now and see if you get a response.
I had noticed this over the past months that searches were giving erroneous results. So, maybe it’s not all me.
