I’m currently working on facial expressions and I’ve run into a major issue with Face Tools.
When I edit and sculpt each of the 13 expressions in ZBrush, everything looks fine. But as soon as I send them back to CC5, all of the expressions get completely messed up.
I’ve tried many different settings and workflows, but nothing seems to fix it.
Has anyone experienced this issue with Face Tools, or found a reliable solution or workaround?

HELP please
Hi jimmy.watelle,
Would you mind sharing another screenshot that includes the CC5 slider values? From the current image, it’s a bit unclear how you verified the issue. Just to note, if ‘jaw open’ is dragged all the way to the right in the facial editor, it will exceed 100% because our Edit Facial panel slider caps at 150 rather than 100.
Thanks
Hi thank you for your feedback. I don’t use a slider for the test—just the button to open the mouth quickly.
Hi jimmy.watelle,
To help us test this, could you please send your working file to winnerhung@reallusion.com or share a Drive link? Alternatively, could you verify if the ZBrush Lvl 3 status matches CC’s Subdiv 2?
Thanks

Hi, I just replied to you and sent you the Google Drive link. Thank you very much for your help.
Hello, have you had time to check my file?
I started everything again from scratch, and it is working much better now. However, I still do not know what caused the original issue, and I am still experiencing some problems, especially with the teeth.
Hi jimmy.watelle,
Absolutely. Please give us a little time as we are currently reviewing your files. Do you still have the same problem with the teeth and lips like this?
Could you screen record your workflow?
Thanks
Thanks for your feedback. No, I pretty much started everything over from scratch, except for the base sculpt of course. I tried two methods:
The first: I wrapped the head with Headshot, then the body with ZWrap like the first time, but without using FaceTools, so I didn’t go through with the full process. This worked well, with a few errors to fix here and there via the Facial Profile Editor. I stopped there because I wanted to try this other method.
The second solution, which I thought of afterward: I wanted to test starting from my “broken” character (the one you have), creating morph sliders for the head and body. Against all odds, the results were much better and the execution faster, with corrections in the Facial Profile Editor and improvements in FaceTools without much hassle.
So those are the two solutions that worked well for me. That said, I’m still curious to understand what could have caused this issue in the first place. Thanks
Test with the new character, There’s still a lot of work to be done on the jaw and the eyes:
