I made some minor edits to the characters clothing in CC4, the built in mesh edit tools in Character Creator were not enough to fix some of the clipping so I made adjustments in blender using the pipeline tools. When I exported the character from blender (using the pipeline) and tried to re-import into Character Creator, the entire program crashes. It’ll get to the checklist when importing where it says all the clothing and accessory items are good, then it’ll hang up for a few seconds and then crashes to desktop. No error codes or anything, just crashing.
That’s happening on occasion as I use pipeline a lot for clothing tweaks/morphs… etc.
Start stripping character of cloth/hair/shoes/accessories in Blender before sending it back to CC. Hopefully the issue does not relate to the item of cloth you’ve been tweaking. When stripping an accessory, also delete the corresponding bones attached to main character armature (but make sure not to delete any of the character core bones).
Generally, when intend to tweak a particular item of cloth in Blender, it’s a good practice to send a bare minimum of objects along with character through pipeline.
Also, just because the checklist is green, doesn’t mean it’s right.
Double check the categories for each item, make sure they are correct. Check that cloth items haven’t been set to hair or beard, this is one of the most likely reasons for import crashes.
The next biggest reason for import crashes is accessories parented to the root bone. Guaranteed crash every time for me.
