Hi.
I’m still on iClone v7, latest version. I’m trying to animate a dog through "Edit Motion Layer’. I want to animate both the tail and the head separately (and maybe more body parts) but in the animation layer in the timeline, there’s just one layer. I tried everything I could to make it display more layers but I couldn’t. Is it even possible? Also, in the curve editor I only have one tiny little dot for every parameter (see attached screenshot). Is it possible to display all the layers for the different body parts in the animation layer?
Thanks.
Is the dog a prop? In that case there won’t be separate layers. That is only for characters.
The only exception would be if the prop has separate subprops for head and tail. Then you could animate those independently.
It’s a prop yes. No sub props.
Thanks.
I don’t know if that would work, but if you have 3DXchange you may be able to create subprops there. If it shows as a single mesh you’re out of luck.
I’m on iClone 8 now and it’s been a while since I have used 3DXchange.
I tried in 3D Xchange. It shows the bone hierarchy but doesn’t allow me to make sub props out of any bones.
By the way, where can we rig characters for iClone? Non humans as well as objects (for example, rig the wings of an airplane to make it fly as a bird). Only in 3D apps like Blender, Maya, etc. I guess? Cartoon Animator does allow us to rig charcters / props and so on.
I tried Accurig briefly, but IIRC it’s only for human characters and only exports avatars to iClone 8.
Thanks
