Just had a quick question as I document the different ways of importing models to Character Creator/IClone for my own studies.
It’s been a while so I don’t know if there’s been changes to this method or (if it deprecated since using the Transformer to convert a DAZ3D model to a CC one is ultimately easier)
I’m searching for the method that involved putting the DAZ3D model in T-pose, using the Genesis8FacialKey.duf to create the face mapping sequence for the model, and then exporting from DAZ and importing the .fbx to Character Creator
I can’t find those additional files on my system and I’m no longer sure if that method is a thing in present time.
Update: After scouring the web for almost an hour I found out the files I was looking for are located C:\Program Files\Reallusion\iClone 8\Program\Assets\ExternalFiles\DazResource
You do not actually need to follow any of those steps anymore. I usually export from DAZ with Include Morphs and Animation unchecked (unless there is a special reason).
Then in CC apply a respective Face profile from DazResource folder.
There is no G8.1 profile and G8 profile is kind of messed up for the left eye and need fixing for both - male and female profiles (all Brows, EyeBlink and some EyeLid sliders).
Here is a quick fix for G8
