DAZ G9 to CC4

I would like to export some DAZ G 9 characters and use the Transformer to import them into Character Creator 4.
I can successfully do this with G 8 and G 8.1, but not G 9.
I have watched the video here Converting Daz Characters to CC3 Base+ - Reallusion Courses
I have and have not applied the G 9 A pose from DazResource.
I have watched several other videos and it just works for those folks, but I receive the error - Failed to load character: No suitable setup profile found.
The characters I am trying to import have no clothing, so Hidden Mesh shouldn’t be the problem.
Thanks in advance for your help

Have you tried with one of the generic G9 characters? That might help to see if it’s something with the particular model you’re trying to convert or something else. I think I’ve heard of this happening if the skeleton is non-standard. Like the creator tweaked something.

Hi…

As already suggested, try using Transformer with the base G9 figure from the Starter Essentials. Don’t add any clothing or even hair, just export the figure only and see if this works (it should).

The G9 toon characters have different eyes

Can you show an example of this? Thanks.

The grey one doesn’t have eyes at all. The one with skin has several extra parts and is missing others.
I also tried some morphs and some ribs fly out to the sides. I don’t remember what I did to get that
The way I have found to get the shape is to use the grey G9 figure then use morph sliders for the toon shapes.

Those cartoon characters will not go through Transformer. They are quite non-standard for Transformer to recognize them.
Your best bet is to dress them up in DAZ and import as non standard if you want those original eyes. There are still no face profiles for G8.1 and G9 characters from RL.
I have been making G9 female face profile myself for a while and have it complete. For female cartoon there is a different one with special eyes morphs, but it’s missing some other sliders because it’s quite different probably. G9_Profiles.zip - Google Drive
They might work on males as well…

Thanks!

You should be aware that those G8 “toon” figures may also have those Daz “geoshells” that are required for that underwhelming “filatoon” shader thing in the latest Daz studio.

Yes, the hair has a copy that is all black. Once deleted, the hair looks nice in the iClone Toon Shader.

I was able to transfer her via transformer with eyes. First you search for Outline and delete all found instances (like AutoDidact mentioned). There might be a few. Then add all 4 G9 Base Anatomy Elements. Finally delete most G9 Toon elements leaving only Floating Iris (eyes) and Brows.
This is how it looks before export:

While in Transformer, assign Cloth to Floating Iris and Hair/Eyebrows to imported brows.

Then after transforming, I applied stylized eyelashes material, tweaked it with available morphs, deleted CC eyes, applied Eyes Occlusion and played with its material settings for shadows at the top.
Then Floating Iris needed to be converted to actual eyes. I did it in Blender by assigning weights to eye bones.I also had to smooth sockets in Blender. Finally Had to tweak her Eye Look blend shapes in Edit Mesh.
I did not do anything with teeth, but if needed they could be brought along and converted to real teeth in Blender - the same way I have done it with eyes.

Now I can dress her in CC and not worry about expressions.

I have enclosed her nude copy for reference: G9 Toon Girl Transformed.ccProject - Google Drive
